Cap Classique Brut Reserve NV

Background: This Cap Classique is the first sparkling wine released by Journey’s End to celebrate our 25th anniversary, the 50th anniversary of South Africa’s Cap Classique tradition, and to pay tribute to Annie Gabb. Ad Infinitum 2022

Background: A play on words with Journey’s End, the name Ad Infinitum is a nod to the wine’s compelling length on the palate, which seems to go on and on to infinity. As Bordeaux sees the cooling and moderating influences of the region’s rivers, the cool sea breeze from the Atlantic Ocean lends our white Bordeaux blend complexity, elegance and a saline freshness.

Blend: 87% Sauvignon Blanc, 13% Semillon

Origin: W.O. Stellenbosch

Tasting Notes: The Ad Infinitum is a passion project in appreciation of all things white Bordeaux, lime in colour and exhibiting pronounced green fig, kiwifruit, lemongrass, and Cape gooseberry. The palate is full, rich, and round with apparent salinity and granite minerality. Light oak toasting allows for absolute freshness and fruit expression while adding body and weight.

Destination 2023

Background: After wind damage caused a particularly challenging vintage in 2006, just one barrel of Chardonnay was produced, and named ‘Destination’ as this was seen as turning point where Journey’s End was destined to sink or swim. When wine proved to be exceptional, the name stuck, and the Chardonnay has grown to become Journey’s End’s hallmark white wine.

Grape: 100% Chardonnay

Origin: W.O. Stellenbosch

Tasting Notes: The Destination is the pinnacle of white winemaking at Journey’s End. The 2023 nose is complex and delivers concentrated stone fruit with layers of citrus, lemongrass, tropical fruit, and hints of smoky spice attributed to generous oak aging. The ever present natural minerality and acidity ensure freshness and adds focus to a long-lasting creamy finish. The Destination is our interpretation of the great Chardonnays of Mersault.

Enjoy now or gracefully age for up to 7 years.

Cape Doctor 2019

Background: The Cape Doctor is the local name for the strong south-eastern wind that blows from False Bay and funnels through to Cape Town and Blouberg. Journey’s End’s Bordeaux blend is named in honour of this local wind that clears away smog and impurities is pivotal to the unique character of the wine.

Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot

Origin: W.O. Stellenbosch

Tasting Notes: This wine exhibits fruits on the darker side of the spectrum with cassis and rich fruitcake on the nose accompanied by cinnamon spice and dark chocolate from generous oak ageing. Concentrated dark berries are complimented by a creamy texture with soft elegant tannins delivering a beautiful long-lasting finish.
