Spekboom Sauvignon Blanc 2024
The vineyards are subject to cooling mists that roll in from the Atlantic Ocean. The combination of excellent soil, varying aspect, slopes and the high rainfall of 700mm to 1100mm per year all contribute to the uniqueness of this Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes ripen without human intervention and the vineyards are carefully nurtured and monitored for optimal picking times. The vineyards are situated high up in the mountains, receiving direct South-Western cold Atlantic winds which helps the grapes retain their fruit flavours. The cool nights and cool South-westerly wind in the afternoons cool the vineyards down and helps to form the elegant fruit flavours displayed in the wine. Soil types consist of weathered granite to deep red and well drained soils.
Intensely aromatic and complex Sauvignon Blanc. The nose showcases lovely layers of aromatics like citrus, grapefruit, hints of apple and guava. The aromatics from the nose continues through onto the palette and the fresh lively acidity contributes to a lively balanced finish.
Lion's Ear Chardonnay 2023
A wine inspired by a brightly coloured shrub in the vineyard’s diverse native terrain: the Leonotis leonurus, also known as ‘Lion’s Ear. Known for its range of medicinal properties, they are also a rich source of nectar for our local pollinator populations of bees and bird life.
The wine has a bright hue with a golden straw colour. Fresh notes of yellow apple, citrus and dried apricots lingers in the glass. The yellow apple and chalky citrus notes with a creamy roundness continues on the palette. The flavours are vibrant, and the finish refined.
NIght Watchman Shiraz - Malbec2021
Blend Composition: 80% Shiraz, 20% Malbec
Wine has a deep purple ruby color. Finely crafted to portray layers of cherry, soft prune, blackcurrant, and hints of black pepper spice. The aromatics continue into the palate with added blueberry, a hint of roasted black olives and soft-spoken sweet spice. A versatile, vibrant medium-bodied dry wine.
Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
All grapes were hand harvested and de-stemmed but not crushed. Whole berries were transferred into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. The whole berries were cold soaked for 5 days prior to fermentation.
An elegant example of this noble variety, showing layers of ripe blackcurrants, red berry, mulberry and black plums with hints of cedar, savoury notes and mixed spice. A balanced wine with lots of fruit and fine notes of spice and tobacco on the palate. This wine displays a smooth, complex finish. The velvety character is a result of generous oak maturation resulting in finely textured tannins and a long-lasting finish. Complex and layered.
Spekboom Syrah 2023
The vineyards are located in the Riebeeck Kasteel area of the Swartland wine region. Vineyards are planted between 100 to 180 meters above sea level. Only 30 % of the blend’s vines are trellised and 70 % are bush vines farmed. Only the trellised vines are irrigated, while the bush vines are dry land farmed. The soils are predominantly Malmesbury shale with pockets of granite. The soils are well drained, though they also hold enough water in their lower reaches to support the irrigation-free farming technique that is used extensively throughout the region

Bluegum Merlot 2022
The grapes were hand harvested between 24° and 25° Balling from mid to the end of March, just before shrivelling set in, when the tannins and fruit had reached optimum ripeness.
The wine has a vibrant, dark ruby red colour. A truly splendid nose of black cherry, sweet raspberry and black plums. The pallet is smooth and soft with abundant, black fruits, sweet liquorice and exceptionally fine tannins. The finish is clean, long and lingering.
Sir Lowry Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Journey’s End has a cool coastal climate that promotes longer ripening periods for the grapes and it adds greater overall quality of the final wine. Grapes were handpicked early in the morning from 2 different blocks. All our vineyards are sustainably farmed.
A good garnet colour in the glass. The nose is complex with darker fruits standing out like blackcurrants, rich dark plums and some lovely savoury depths of smoky spice, meat extract and pencil shavings. Designed for the longer haul, the 18 months French oaking gives it the power and structure to mature for a long period. Dark fruits showcase on the palette and complemented by a good textured tannin profile. Wine pairs very well with red meat dishes.
